About HomeSage

HomeSage exists because finding honest, practical information about aging-in-place products is harder than it should be. Most of what you find online is either clinical and jargon-heavy, or thinly disguised advertising dressed up as editorial content.

Our mission

Help caregivers and older adults find the right products, modifications, and resources to support safe, independent living at home — through honest, research-driven reviews and guides.

We write for adult children helping aging parents navigate decisions they've never faced before. And we write for seniors who want to make their own informed choices without being talked down to.

How we research

Every piece of content on HomeSage is built on:

  • Pricing and plan analysis — We gather current pricing directly from vendor websites and document what each plan includes.
  • Customer review synthesis — We read hundreds of verified customer reviews to identify patterns in what works and what doesn't.
  • Expert source citation — We reference authoritative third parties including the National Council on Aging (NCOA), CDC, AARP, and peer-reviewed health research.
  • Comparison analysis — Where possible, we compare products head-to-head against their closest alternatives.

Our editorial independence

HomeSage participates in affiliate programs, which means we earn commissions when readers purchase through our links. This is how we fund the site and keep it running without charging for access.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial recommendations. We evaluate products based on the criteria above. If a product has significant drawbacks, we say so — even if it pays a higher commission than a better alternative.

Questions or corrections?

If you find an error in our content, or have a suggestion for a topic we should cover, we want to hear from you. Our editorial goal is accuracy above all else. Content updates and corrections are made promptly when errors are identified.
